Brain freeze

Now why is it that I can go to my Spanish class and speak fluent Spanish to my teacher, translating whatever she asks me....yet as soon as I leave the room and have to talk to anyone else my brain freezes, my tongue ties and I am left just smiling and waving!? Why is that eh? Frustrating!

Babysat for the Haglers last night. Well, it was hardly babysitting - Hannah is 16! The others are all younger than her and they just needed someone there for the night whilst Kathee went to get Tim from the airport. I was just there to be old! I do enjoying staying the night at different houses - gets me away from my own for a bit!!

I have 'brain freeze' most of the time and it's got nothing to do with another language; it's either cos I'm SEN or just old!!!! I'm sure your smiling and waving of arms gets you what you want; that's the main thing! I was going to write goodbye in Spanish, but realise I don't know that ( or any Spanish for that matter) so au revoir (!) love Barbara x

Hmmm - is it because you're a muppet!!

Barbara's right, nothing to do with language. I often can't talk in English let alone another language (not sure age has got a lot to do with it though) can do au revoir (thanks to wendy) and buenos something or other.God bless. love Jean.

Ok let's have an online poll!

How many people reading this blog think Katharine is a muppet, and if so, which one? Personally, I'd say Gonzo!!

Maybe there is some strange Honduras dialect so whatever they are saying to you you can't actually understand and is nothing to do with being a muppet, who incidentally I loved watching!

Can't believe that no-one else in the land of blog agrees with me. Going to have to look at the evidence:

Does Katharine live in a slightly surreal world that bears no resemblance to our normal, everyday lives? - yes

Does she seem to hang around with some very weird and wonderful people? - yes

Is she a little bit furry, with a big green nose and uncontrollable eyes? - well I haven't seen her for a while, but quite possibly yes

There you have it then, conclusive proof she is in fact a muppet!

May have changed my mind on Gonzo though, maybe more like Fozzie Bear!

love Pete

Well done Katharine! I wish I knew your brother Pete, and Tom, Did and Douglas too, of-course! Barbara x

surely anyone who moves to a place where the labour for work on a car is only £5 can't be the muppet !!
love jean.x (ahh! Dad can use a computer!!!!!!)

Katharine and DM - Tell us more about Tom, Did and Douglas please. You owe it to your fans! I used to have an invisible dog that would hide among the clothing displays in M & S and in the old style index card drawers in Worthing library (where Tourist Info is now), but he didn't have a name!

Should the fan-base be concerned for Katharine's wellfare as there are more comments about her "Muppet" status on this blog entry than any type of comments on any of her other blog entries.

I'll have you know that Tom and Douglas are very well and happily living in Taunton and Harrogate respectively. Very sadly, Did died in a road accident a couple of years ago. He will, however, not be forgotten by those who knew him well!

PS - we could always move on to Sesame Street next! All about strange looking creatures, speaking Spanish and teaching kids - need I say more!!!

having been quite poorly for the last few days, Pete you comments made me laugh. I really can see the connection with Sesame Street.
CHAT -- is it still in the clothing displays causing all that dust?? Katharine, how's your week been?
God Bless , love Jean. x

Jean - I'd tell you to look out for him at work but it was in the Worthing store!
Quite fancy living in Sesame Street. Guiding name was Oscar: I could take up residence with my name sake in his dust bin - sorry, trash can!

P.S. Oscar the Grouch lived in a trash can, for the uninitiated

Why are there so many comments on my Muppet status than anything else I have ever written??!!!

Peter!!!
